Just back from … Recently I had the opportunity to have a few days to “renew” in Jamaica and to reunite with our West Coast family. The days went by all too quickly, but they gave me a wonderful opportunity to experience “the magic” of all that makes Jamaica Inn so special.
Cottage 3 is definitely worth the splurge – particularly for a special celebration. The cottage, situated on a bluff with spectacular panoramic views, is bright, airy and private with an extremely spacious living room, bedroom and bathroom all overlooking the sparkling waters of the Caribbean. The bathroom, with indoor shower and separate tub, also has a doorway leading to the patio and outdoor shower. The private infinity at the cliff overlooking the water is an idyllic place to spend the day, or to enjoy the evening sunset. Steps down to the sea allow you to snorkel right off your deck. Dinner under the stars gave me the opportunity to experience a fish that is new to me – Snook. It was extremely tasty and served with one of my favourite Caribbean vegetables – Christophene. The days went by much too quickly, but as we quote in our 2010 Resort Collection brochure “faith is restored in the simple joys of living.” You too can enjoy a “Quick Fix Getaway”. Call us for details. We had organized a driver through the hotel. He was friendly and eager to give us some great information about the island. On our way back to Montego Bay, he stopped at a local store and purchased some delicious Jamaican Beef Patties as a farewell gift to us. To me it was a prime example of the warmth and sincerity of the Jamaican people. It was a generous gesture that we all appreciated. My last night in Jamaica was enjoyed at Round Hill Hotel & Villas. It is always a good feeling driving the gates of Round Hill – the welcoming sunshine, lush foliage and well manicured greens follow you down the driveway to the entrance. Kingsley, the bellman, who is always there to greet you warmly, has 35 years of service with Round Hill. The spacious Ralph Lauren designed suites overlooking the waters calm the soul instantly in their serene design. That night it was Beach BBQ “Barefoot Style” and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to dine on the beach before heading back to the cold of Toronto. I highly recommend a great package “The Classics of Jamaica” that combines a stay at these two very special retreats – call us for details. Sincerely,
Lillian Day, President P.S. – Be sure to check out the specials being offered through the upcoming months at these enchanting resorts.
