Just Back From:
Jumby Bay, Antigua
After being in St. Kitts recently, I followed with a few days in Antigua beginning with a stay at Jumby Bay.
It was a delight to be back and to have the opportunity to
experience the sublime Rosewood Estate Suites – extremely spacious one
bedroom suites with large airy living room opening onto an
infinity-edge pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea and white sandy
beach. The master bedroom with a very good-sized bathroom, powder
room and outdoor private garden with deep pedestal tub and rain shower
is a definite wow! These suites also allow the option to connect
to one or two suites – perfect for families. Also be sure
to take time for a Hot Stone Massage with Sharon at the Rosewood Spa,
sure to further soothe you.
My friend who travelled with me had the following feedback:
“I recently returned from a
short, too short, stay at Jumby Bay. If you go, plan for at
least 5-days and try for 10-days if you can. It is heaven –
beautiful beach, lovely clear blue-green Caribbean water and the most
comfortable beach chaises anywhere in the world! You can
lie for hours, only move to raise your flag so that Franka can walk
down the beach and bring you a delicious Jumby Bay
concoction. Life is good at Jumby Bay – the rooms are
spacious and you have not lived until you shower under the stars –
exotic outdoor showers and huge bathtubs. The food is
amazing and there is a variety, from lovely beachside casual dining to
old world charm dining in the Estate House. Enough cannot
be said about the staff at Jumby Bay – friendly, always smiling,
helpful, entertaining and more. My stay was way too short
and for sure I will be returning to Jumby Bay – sooner, rather than
later.”!

Carlisle Bay, Antigua
On this
same trip, I had the opportunity to spend a night at Carlisle Bay,
Antigua. Unfortunately my stay was way too short, but it allowed
me a very brief time to experience once again what makes Carlisle Bay
so popular with our guests. It is clear to see why they enjoy it
so much, and choose to return. The spacious balconies overlooking
the Caribbean, complete with their generously sized loungers, are
idyllic places to catch your breath and let the rest of the world go by.
Dining is always a pleasure at Carlisle Bay and my evening there was no
exception. The menu is wide and varied with signature
dishes and light and healthy choices clearly noted. Be sure to
try the Carlisle Bay signature dish of Salt Fish Cakes with Red Pepper
and Ackee Aioli and Mango Puree. Delicious! Carlisle Bay
also makes their own sorbets – different and unique combinations are
offered and along with a Fresh Mint Infusion, a perfect way to end a
splendid meal.
On my August visit, families with children of all ages were enjoying
the sandy beach, the enticing sea, and joining together for their
family meals. Children were also participating in the activities
of the kids’ clubs for children of various age groups, giving their
parents some time to themselves.
The design of Carlisle Bay allows the families to be together in one
section in family-friendly Beach Suites; couples relax in the
Ocean Suites in another section – an idea popular with honeymooners for
example and families alike.

Be sure to check
out one of a number of values offered at Jumby Bay and Carlisle Bay in the Collection section of our web site and call us for
full details.
Sincerely,

Lillian Day, President
